Tips for Using QuickBooks

The purpose of any financial software is to make accounting easier and more reliable. Hopefully, you have been using the 5 QuickBook Tips we posted earlier in the year. Today we will provide you with a few more tips to make using QuickBooks even easier:

  • Right-click Menus – Right-click menus are a convenient and useful alternative to relying on the toolbar. It is helpful to use the right-click option to perform a task related to a specific item or transaction as opposed to applying the task to all.
  • Customize the Icon Bar – By selecting only the necessary functions, you can customize the Icon Bar to fit your needs. To do this, go to ‘View Menu’ then click ‘Customize Icon Bar’ where you can remove, add or modify an icon.
  • FIND Feature – While you are customizing your Icon Bar, be sure to add the FIND feature to it if you haven’t already. This powerful search tool will search for almost any transaction level data to locate transactions easily.
  • Memorized Transaction – QuickBooks has the capability to memorize recurring transactions. You can automate bills, income and saving by entering it through a memorized transaction. Each time it occurs, change the amount and date then the transaction will automatically post to the correct account.
